I was asked to give some information on european zippos...

- the differences between American Zippo and European zippo.. (if any..)
- how / the way to recognize European zippo..
- the place of Zippo manufactured in Europe..
- etc that related to Zippo Europe.


1-the differences between American Zippo and European zippo.. (if any..)

Question 1:
There is no difference in the Zippo itself. There is only a difference in the designs they bring on the lighters. Few Designs are made only for the German market you will even not find in other european countrys. One of the big producers in Germany are http://www.hauser-augsburg.de They made a lot of different designs over the past few years.Most of the Spider Zippo came from them, the Stone-Art collection and the "on-Stage" Zippo lighters....

2- how / the way to recognize European zippo..
Question 2:
Most of them you can only recognize if there is an advertising for a European product on. Like the Jägermeister Zippo or "Werner" a Comic from Germany, "Ottifanten" an older comedian from Germany uses them.... how to find them you have to look into the European catalogs....

3- the place of Zippo manufactured in Europe..

Question 3:
As far that I know all lighters are produced in the USA! "BRADFORD PA" The only Country that make it's own finishes is Japan. They import the plain cases from USA and change them.

4- etc that related to Zippo Europe.
Question 4:

They have a few Local Headquarters in Europe. I know of German one, a Italan, the UK one and I think France has one too.

oh yeah, btw, we in Indonesia are facing fakes Zippos. Especially the japans editions. it is fake and they sell it in high prices!

For US designs counterfeits, lots of us can see the differences almost instantly. But for the japan edition, it's little bit harder to recognize.

How about conterfeit Zippo cases in Europe? (especially your country). What design mostly forged by conterfeiters?

The biggest "fake" in the U.K. IS VIETNAM zippo's....you need to be good if your going to spot a fake from a photo! the bottom making will give it away, or holding it in the hand...
I have three fakes, but I brought them knowing that, I like the designs!
the inserts will also tell you its a fake!

my friend have a vietnamese zippo, ill upload the photos for you.
and maybe you can tell me is it original or a fake one..
because the condition, well...it's not good...
it's just like it was taken from a dead soldier pocket in vietnam......
you can imagine...

if it's an original zippo i would like to claim the guarantee, i already contact mr.subhan (a member here who had already claim his zippo guarantee) and asked about whether i can claim my guarantee or not.

Hi Guys...!!
Here from sweden they dont sell so much zippo at all..
Our zippo center in sweden was disused because it was so expensive to buy and export so now its only private owners than sell from a tobacco stores..
But little help about the zippo Europe collection..
Zippo have a few regions of all catalogues and the each region has almost the same lighter but not always the same look.
Visit this site and look in the catalogues and you can dowloaded them and have it in the computer for later looking if you want...!!
